Responsibilities
Nuclear medicine technologists prepare and administer radioactive
isotopes producing high quality images for physicians to use in
diagnosing disease and that meet the standards established by the
Mayo Clinic Radiology Departments. Requires competence, as
determined by competency assessments, in a variety of imaging
equipment and technology. Practices proper safety guidelines for
themselves, support personnel and patients. Fosters teamwork
through effective communication. Ensures high level of service to
patients through proper communication, technique, and safety
guidelines. Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations,
shift times and lengths. Perform other functional duties as
assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient
care.Qualifications
A nuclear medicine technologist must be a graduate of an accredited
baccalaureate nuclear medicine technology program (as recognized by
the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or Nuclear
Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)). Organized,
efficient and multifunctional. Ability to work independently.
Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective
communication. Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths and
respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings,
nights, holidays and weekends.Additional QualificationsNuclear
Medicine Technologist experience preferred.License or
CertificationA nuclear medicine technologist must be board
certified in Nuclear Medicine Technology and maintain current
licensure. (NMTCB or ARRT - Nuc. Med.) Additional certifications
may be required and determined by Radiology leadership.Appropriate
state licensure from the state in which the candidate practices (if
the state requires licensure).BLS certifiedExemption

four days per work week with one day off. Rotating shifts between
hospital and outpatient imaging center (PET/CT). Occasional
coverage at Fairmont Nuclear Medicine Department. Shifts are 7-3:30
and 8-4:30. There is rotating call on week days and
holidays.Weekend ScheduleRotating call every fourth
