Job Description Job Description Are you a highly meticulous and
innovative Electrical Controls Designer ready to shape the future
of industrial automation? Do you thrive on transforming complex
concepts into precise, functional electrical systems? If you're
passionate about detail, dedicated to excellence, and eager to
contribute to cutting-edge projects while continuously refining
processes, then we have an electrifying opportunity for you! As an
Electrical Controls Designer, you'll be the architect behind the
electrical brains of our advanced automation and control systems.
You'll be designing, developing, and refining electrical schematics
and control panel layouts for a diverse range of applications. Your
expertise will be crucial in ensuring our solutions are not just
compliant with the highest safety and quality standards but also
highly efficient and reliable. You'll work hand-in-hand with a
talented team, bringing innovative ideas to life from concept
through manufacturing. What You'll Do: Design & Develop: Create
detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel
layouts using AutoCAD . Develop comprehensive Bills of Material
(BOMs) for all electrical components. Interpret engineering
specifications, P&IDs, and functional descriptions to translate
them into robust and compliant electrical designs. Select and
specify electrical components, including PLCs, HMIs, drives,
sensors, actuators, and protective devices, ensuring adherence to
relevant standards (NEC, UL, CE, NFPA). Calculate wire sizing,
circuit protection, and power distribution requirements. Document &
Standardize: Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation,
including revision control and "as-built" drawings. Ensure all
designs consistently adhere to industry best practices, company
standards, and applicable electrical codes and regulations.
Generate detailed installation and commissioning guides as
required. Collaborate & Support: Work closely with electrical
engineers, software engineers, project managers, and manufacturing
teams throughout the entire project lifecycle. Provide essential
technical support during panel fabrication, and testing. Assist in
troubleshooting electrical issues during prototyping and
production. Continuous Improvement & Innovation : Proactively
identify and implement improvements to our electrical design
processes, tools, and methodologies. Participate actively in design
reviews, contributing valuable insights and driving efforts to
enhance design efficiency, accuracy, and overall product quality.
Stay current with emerging technologies, components, and design
trends in industrial automation and electrical controls, bringing
new ideas to the table. Identify opportunities for design
optimization, cost reduction, and enhanced system performance. What
You'll Bring Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely
related field. Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on
experience in electrical controls design for industrial automation
or control systems. Technical Skills: Required: High proficiency in
AutoCAD for creating and managing electrical schematics and panel
layouts. Preferred: Experience with EPLAN design software. Strong
understanding of PLC hardware and other industrial control
components (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
Solid knowledge of industrial control panel design and fabrication
principles. Robust understanding of electrical safety principles
and relevant codes (NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79). Ability to read,
interpret, and create complex engineering drawings and
specifications. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and
analytical abilities, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of
explaining technical concepts clearly. Ability to work both
independently and as a highly collaborative team member.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Strongly
Desired: Experience with lean manufacturing principles. Experience
with hazardous location (HazLoc) electrical design. Experience or
strong interest in digital twin technologies and their application
in electrical controls design. Grow with Us! We're excited to be
investing in the future, and that includes expanding our
capabilities with EPLAN and advancing our use of digital twins.
While AutoCAD is a must-have, if you have EPLAN experience, you'll
hit the ground running. If not, we offer training and support for
you to develop expertise in EPLAN, allowing you to grow your
skillset and contribute to our evolving design practices and
innovative approaches to system development. Physical Demands &
